Louth Area Secondary Schools Look to the Future

Discussions have taken place for positive proposals to secure the best quality education for the Louth area.

Governing Bodies of Cordeaux School, Monks Dyke and Tennyson learning Federation, Birkbeck School and Wolds COllege met on 27th January 2011 to consider reasons why schools need to adapt, principles for proposed changes, a possible new structure and ways forward.

The key proposal is to form a single organisation, most likely an academy, on several sites with a single governing body, Executive Headteacher and leadership team. The priority will be to meet the needs and interests of young people with a broad inclusive 11-18 curriculum offer irrespective of where the student attends school.

Schools wish to stress that these are only proposals and uder consideration at present. It will be for Governing Bodies in the individual schools to consider whether they wish to proceed ahead of a full formal consultation process.
